The Child Development Service (CDS) provides exceptional care for young children with complex neurodevelopmental needs and developmental disabilities. The CDS is a tertiary community service based at Royal North Shore Hospital, that provides consultation, education, resources as well as multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Assessment across the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD)
What you'll be doing
Provide high level paediatric Social Work services to clients and partners of the Child Development Service (CDS). The CDS provides tertiary multidisciplinary diagnosis and assessment to young children with developmental disabilities within Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). The CDS Social Worker provides consultation, short-term counselling and case management to clients with developmental disabilities and their families, and liaises closely with external service providers.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Evidence of clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Social Worker or equivalent.
- Skills in providing comprehensive assessment, consultation, counselling, education and case management to CDS clients.
- Team work skills, liaising closely with CDS clinicians, other professionals and stakeholders who are also supporting the family.
- Skills in providing expert outreach consultation, education and resources to other professionals across the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) network.
