The Senior Social Worker (Truancy) provides professional support and supervision to Social Workers Truancy. This position works with preschools and schools to provide proactive and targeted services to support children and young people with attendance, engagement and retention concerns and their families. The role will support the Team Manager with the recruitment of Social Workers and provide induction and professional support, development and supervision of Social Workers with a focus on meeting professional and service delivery standards. The Senior Social Worker (Truancy) is a member of a state wide social work leadership team and engages in professional supervision with the Principal Social Worker.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
