An exciting opportunity has arisen to be involved in a newly established service within South Metropolitan Mental Health Services. We are seeing a highly motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Older Adult Mental health Hospital In the Home team based in Rockingham.

Rockingham Peel Group is part of the South Metropolitan Health Service, one of the fastest growing health services in Western Australia and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital and Murray District Hospital, in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. As the flagship hospital, Rockingham General is focused on providing high quality general medical, surgical and mental health services as well as outpatient care. Murray District Hospital offers inpatient medical services, palliative care and allied health services. 

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

Currently we are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Rockingham/Kwinana/Peel Mental Health Service team. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will plan, implement, coordinate and evaluates Senior Social Worker services to patients in the clinical area of Older Adult Mental Health Hospital in the Home service using advanced Occupational Therapy clinical practice skills.

Are you eligible? To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.

This is a Permanent Full Time appointment.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
