The role:

aXcelerate is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to be a valuable addition to our software engineering teams. As a Senior Software Developer, your core focus will be on developing high-quality and secure software, adhering strictly to aXcelerate's well-defined software development life cycle and information security standards. Collaborating effectively with an agile team, you'll be supported and mentored by peers and managers. As a Senior Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to shape the technology and systems that underpin our product.

Our Brisbane-based office offers hybrid work options however we welcome applications from remote candidates within Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the analysis, design, development, and implementation of major system components, considering client requirements and ensuring scalability and optimal user experience.
• Drive innovation and adaptability by responding to evolving business needs with fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Foster a collaborative and best-practice culture, promoting code reviews, unit testing, and knowledge sharing within the Digital team.
• Maintain solution documentation, track technical debt, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage project tasks and timelines, utilising Jira, providing regular updates to the Team Leader.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, prototyping and implementing innovative solutions with a focus on reliability, security, performance, and cost.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers, fostering their professional growth and sharing knowledge within the team.

About you

• ~ 5+ years experience developing full-stack web applications
• Demonstrated commercial experience with React/React Native and NodeJs OR commercial experience with backend technologies such as Java, .NET, PHP, Coldfusion
• Experience working in an agile team environment
• Experience with containerisation and serverless technologies in AWS(desirable)
• Highly proficient in using GIT and Jira
• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies
