We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.As a Senior Software Engineer within the DFMS project, the incumbent will: Be a recognised software specialist in a specific software domain, technology, or methodology and will utilise those skills in the development of software systems Provide technical leadership and guidance to more junior members of the project team and will have significant responsibility for ensuring the technical integrity and quality of the software system Key responsibilities include: Be accountable for the design and development of software systems in accordance with the contractual and company requirements Provide technical leadership for all relevant Software Engineering activities conducted by the DFMS software team Champion the use of 'Best Practice' Software Engineering processes and methods across the team Provide an interface between the relevant Software Engineering teams and BAE Systems Management and Customer representatives Lead the identification and resolution of technical issues associated with the execution of Software Engineering activities across the team Estimate software activities to be undertaken on the project Provide subject matter expert advice to the project team Provide mentoring to the project's junior Software Engineers About YOU Strong experience in the development of software products using relevant Software Engineering technologies A strong understanding of the Software Development lifecycle. Understanding and experience with Agile development.Strong experience in developing software using the following technologies: C , C#, SQL Server, Windows & Atlassian environment Ability to ensure the technical integrity and quality of software products Ability and willingness to perform work at customer sites in support of the systems and software within the DFMS, including the provision of out of hours on-call and call-out support on a rostered basis.
