It is an exciting time for AFG, and our team is expanding! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our high performing Software Engineering Chapter.
As part of a highly experienced team, you will be an integral part of achieving successful outcomes. The work environment is fast-paced and supportive, where you will be working alongside passionate like-minded individuals.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working with leading cloud native technology
- ‘Build & Run’ serverless API’s
- Supporting legacy applications
- Working closely with Product Owners and Architect’s
- Have input into architectural decisions
- Participating in Agile / Scrum events
- Developing a strong working understanding of the business and how our systems create value
- Taking ownership of work and responsibility for getting it done
- Mentioning/coaching junior staff

Using the skills you have gained through achieving your Bachelor of Computer Science (or equivalent) and 7+ years of experience, you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge or experience in some of the following areas:
- AWS and AWS CDK (IaC) exposure
- Languages and concepts: HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript
- API & Web Development
- Documenting unit test cases and unit test results
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and also autonomously
- Highly organised
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- Web frameworks (AngularJS, React or similar)
- Experience with .Net Core (C# or similar)
- Experience with BDD, TDD
- OpenID Connect (OICD)
- Knowledge of continuous integration / continuous deployment processes (GitHub Actions, Git, Bitbucket or similar)
- Previous experience in an agile team environment
