Due to our ongoing growth, we are now searching for a Senior Software Engineer proficient in PHP/Laravel to join our remote-first engineering team. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a mid-senior Full Stack Developer looking to advance their career.

In this role, you will become a part of our newly established Flights team, which plays a pivotal role within the Inspiring Vacations business. Your primary responsibility will be to create exceptional customer experiences by seamlessly integrating third-party solutions with our flight booking engine. This will enable us to provide real-time availability and pricing to our customers across all our channels. It's an exciting project and team, offering a multitude of engineering challenges.

Working closely with key business stakeholders, the flight product owner, product designers and commercial partners, you will contribute to the evolution of the flight engine system's architecture and software design. You will be involved in scoping, designing and integrating with third-party Rest/Soap API’s, shipping new features and enhancements using an iterative, customer-centric and continuous improvement approach.

This role offers a broad learning experience, allowing you to gain valuable knowledge in the Inspiring Vacations stack - PHP, Laravel, and front-end technologies. You will also have the opportunity to work with underlying AWS services, such as Elastic Beanstalk, S3, Glue, Athena, and Quicksight. Since the initiatives in our flights product roadmap are all customer-facing and designed to delight end-users, you will be exposed to a wide range of front-end development technologies, responsive design, user experience, and customer-centric design principles. 
 
What you’ll need to join our leading Engineering Team:

You will have strong commercial experience developing with PHP and Laravel frameworks, and have a solid understanding and experience with front-end technologies and best practices considering responsiveness, performance, monitoring and usability. You are passionate about Software Engineering and are eager to learn new concepts, tools and methods quickly and efficiently. 

Key selection criteria:

• Extensive experience as a Full Stack Developer with proficiency in PHP, Laravel and Vue.js 
• A background working with third-party APIs
• Experience in PHP Unit testing and TDD
• Mobile responsive development experience (including flex, grid and bootstrap)
• Proficiency with AWS cloud services and deployment is preferred (Elastic Beanstalk, S3, Glue, Athena, Quicksight) whilst experience integrating with Amadeus GDS or equivalent will be viewed favourably. 
• Experience working in Scrum/Kanban teams (or willingness to learn agile methodologies in practice)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
• Strong commitment and desire to learn and develop new skills and technologies
• Highly motivated with agility to work in an evolving, fast-paced, rapidly changing business
• Ability to work full-time with full working rights in Australia
