Overview
Softtestpays Client has an opening for a Senior Solution Architect to be based in Perth. This role will be focussed on supporting our mining customers who are rapidly developing new mines, expanding existing mines, closing old mines, and have an ongoing need for upgrading existing IT systems and services. You will be part of a key team that builds an in depth understanding of our mining client environments and needs. You will help in guiding and shaping the scope and requirements of engagements, leveraging your knowledge and that of the team to ensure delivery of highly successful mining solution outcomes.
You will provide architectural services focused on leading technology-based pursuits. The operating environment includes engaging with architects and technology SMEs on the client side with which you will interface, and represent Clients capabilities and innovation agendas. You will engage with C-level decision makers and key business stakeholders as part of defining and developing solutions and achieving successful outcomes.
The role requires an end-to-end perspective; determining and understanding the business need and scope; developing the solution, being cognisant of the supporting business processes; guide and support the solution build and implementation; and, understand the need and transition to BAU support.
You are an established Senior Solution Architect, with expertise in applications and systems (an advantage for supporting mining operations) and base knowledge of infrastructure/cloud environments, looking for a role with high visibility.
What you will do:
- Architect solutions of program, enterprise and operational scope
- Extract and evaluate the client business needs to develop a solution/architecture in conjunction with clients architectural/IT service providers
- Establish technical credibility with existing and prospective clients, providing the ability to cultivate relationships and envision solution strategies
- Understand complex business problems and commercial frameworks and how to apply a logical, systematic approach to arrive at an appropriate solution. Includes finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems
- Bridge the communication between IT and business operations to ensure everyone is aligned in developing and implementing the technical solutions that address the business problems
- Describe the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of the solution to project stakeholders
- Break down the solution in defining features, phases, solution requirements and providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered
What you will bring to the role:
- Minimum of 8+ years' experience in a Senior Solution Architect role
- You will have a broad and balanced mix of skills and knowledge across industry, business, IT strategy and digital strategy, and technology domains
- Industry knowledge across Mining, Oil, Gas, Energy or Utilities ideal
- Sound communication, stakeholder management, problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to link business with IT
- Ability to apply architectural principles and solution elements to business needs in a pragmatic way
- Ability to quickly gain a broad view of the business and varied degrees of appreciation for strategies, processes, technologies, and governance
- Good organisational, strategic planning and research skills
