Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. We are currently looking for a Principal Consultant to join our Technology Transformation domain in Melbourne. Working out of our Collins street office, you'll be responsible for consulting with our clients to meet their business objectives and strategy around networking and datacentre transformation and cloud.
We have a requirement for a business focused consultant to support our Managed Hybrid IT strategy to deliver on technical requirements which impacts the NTT Victoria business. Using a combination of people, processes, tools, and platforms, we work with our clients to optimise and transform organizations. You'll engineer precisely the right mix to meet their needs, delivering faster and better business outcomes.
The Principal Consultant works to understand their clients' business and technical goals and the challenges that are encountered in achieving those goals. The PC is more business than technically aligned, and their output must always produce, at the very least, a plan that can be executed by the client or that the client can subsequently engage NTT to execute on their behalf. The PC must be able to support our salespeople in the pursuit of consulting opportunities and be self-driven to pursue these opportunities should our salespeople not consider identifying and pursuing consulting opportunities a priority. As well as pursue and closing consulting opportunities, the PC must be able to also execute the consulting engagements that they have won. The PC may need to leverage the Technology Transformation domain and other domains/practices to complete the execution of these engagements and must be proficient at managing and coordinating a team of technical people in this activity. The PC is also responsible for maintaining client relationships and must be a clear and concise communicator and not reliant on our salespeople to be the conduit to the client.
Your day at NTT
- Identify the business objectives and success factors for technology strategies
- Identifying and qualifying transformation opportunities
- Define "to-be" architecture
- Develop technology roadmaps to meet the business objectives and strategy
- Develop business case and return on investment documentation
- Provide support to the sales, bid and account management process
- Define and design scope of works
- Engage with customers and partners throughout the solution design phase
- Present business and solution cases
- Conduct workshops and meetings to guide clients to achieve their outcomes
- Compare and contrast solutions, options, and costings across multiple vendors
- Be the main point of contact for Technology Transformation Victoria related matters within the professional services division
- Assist with technical business development in a customer facing, C-Level environment
- Quickly align technology to meet client and business requirements
- Create go to market products and assessment services for hybrid cloud solutions
- Own vendor relationships and drive value for money

Networking & Data Centre Infrastructure (Network, Storage, Compute and Virtualisation, Public Cloud (Azure, AWS and GCP) & Hybrid Cloud
Strong knowledge across one or two backup, storage, disaster recovery and migration / consolidation strategies Converged and Hyper Converged Infrastructure
Technologies include:
- Demonstrated experience in the consulting, planning, and designing of Cloud and on-premise solutions; in Azure, AWS and GCP - Two or more looked upon favourably
- Well versed with scripting and automation and able to coach
- Dell Tech; Dell, Dell EMC, VMware, and Pivotal - such as VXRail, Avamar, Data Domain, Networker
- Cisco Networking and Datacentre technologies
- Hyperconverged solutions
- NetApp Storage and Cloud OnTap
- Converged and Hyper Converged Architecture
- Referenced architectures such as FlexPod, vBlock & FlashStack
- HPE Synergy
- Commvault
Academic qualifications and certifications:
- Qualification in Information Technology or Information Systems
- Certification and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, SOA, ITIL, COBIT, etc.)
- SAFe Scaled Agile certification advantageous
Experience required:
- Solid professional technical, IT or Operations experience within a large scale (preferably multi- national) technology services environment on the following areas: Software Development, Application Support and Infrastructure Support
- Some Project or Program Management experience would be preferred but not essential
- Proven client engagement and consulting experience coupled with solid experience in client needs assessment and change management
- Proven experience in integrating the solution for the particular project with the business domain, enterprise concerns, industry standards, established patterns and best practices
- Experience working in an agile development environment
