Talent Street is looking for a Senior Spatial Applications Specialist for a large Victorian government department in their data analytics and information systems team.
Contract duration: 3 monthsLocation: Melbourne, VIC
Role Purpose:
The Senior Spatial Applications Specialist is a member of the data analytics and information systems team in this large Victorian government department. This role designs, builds and maintains spatial and non-spatial data integration processes to support data ingestion, storage & management, and business intelligence reporting. The Senior Spatial Applications Specialist works closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data management and reporting needs are met for the Recreation Assets and Investment Team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance existing FME pipelines into the Data Warehouse.
- Undertake analysis to develop and/or enhance existing data model to ensure efficient ingestion, processing, and storage of the data, and to ensure the implemented system’s future maintenance.
- Document internal processes and collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure maintenance of the respective environments.
- Clearly communicate with stakeholders to report project progress.
- continuous improvement to maintain a fit for purpose framework from lessons learnt, assurance reviews and trend insight and analysis.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in spatial and non-spatial data management and analysis.
- Proficiency in FME, Python and SQL.
- Highly experienced in dealing with diverse methods and tools of data ingestion.
- Deep understanding of various database technologies and data warehousing solutions specifically MS SQL.
- Expertise in conceptualizing and developing data models that define how spatial and non-spatial is ingested, stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems.
