Location: Adelaide, with travel to site when required. Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

How You Will Create Impact:
- Provide geotechnical input into the long-term design phase of the Carrapateena block cave. Focusing on elimination, substitution and engineering controls to the identified geotechnical caving hazards, whilst planning for the execution of tactical operational controls.
- In collaboration with the external SME, refine and develop the pre-conditioning and cave engineering designs for the block cave.
- Continue to develop and refine the caveability assessments, both empirically and numerically as the orebody knowledge grows.
- As a Geotechnical SME, support the geology and database team to ensure that foundational geotechnical and orebody knowledge data is collected to the defined asset and company standard by providing input and training on geotechnical rock mass characterisation and conduct data validation.
- Liaise with the other OBK functions to develop cross discipline data collection programs to harvest the maximum OBK data from all sources within the budgetary and time constraints.
- Manage the development, periodic update, and socialisation of the Carrapateena Geotechnical block model.
- Liaise and collaborate with the specialist geologist and specialist structural geologist to create and validate the resource and structural models.
- Lead and coordinate dynamic ground support and seismic hazard management investigations for the Block Cave. Working collaboratively with external SME's and asset discipline leads to develop appropriate seismic risk mitigation strategies to support life of mine, detailed planning and execution works related to the Block Cave.
You will bring with you:
- Input into Block Cave major excavation geotechnical hazard evaluation - Crusher chambers, transfer chambers etc...
- Implementation of good practice dynamic ground support design practices into the block cave design
- Pre-conditioning Long Term project management
- Development and socialisation of Geotechnical block model
- Validation and QA/QC of collected geotechnical data
- Geobank database development (Geotechnical)
- Block cave monitoring system design, budgeting and scheduling to an execution deign level.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to further develop our orebody knowledge through innovation and collaboration to maximise return on investment.
- Develop and support innovation and development project into all aspects of current and future Geotechnical Engineering, with the aim of improving value for our stakeholders, through risk mitigation and process optimisation.
- Assist in the creation of future caving risk management plans and appropriate governance documentation.
- Communicate with all key stakeholders regarding current and future geotechnical risk management.
