YOUR ROLE
As a senior technology lawyer, you’ll join IAG’s high performing legal team awarded the 2022 Large Legal Team of the Year at the ACC Corporate Lawyer awards. This full-time position will see you working closely with the business and providing commercially focused, fast-paced legal advice and input on a broad range of significant technology projects, including software as a service, software licensing, managed services, professional services, and support services agreements.
You will have the opportunity to support and shape the transformation of the technology landscape at IAG at a time of peak technology change and complexity, as well as help enhance governance models to increase efficiency and support new opportunities (such as AI).
You will be passionate about establishing deep and effective relationships with business partners and peers to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate will be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
ABOUT YOU
• Senior qualified legal practitioner with 7+ years of experience, ideally gained at a major Australian or international law firm and/or large corporate.
• Significant legal practice experience in the following functional areas: technology, privacy/data and commercial contracting/procurement. Experience in intellectual property, spam and marketing/consumer law highly regarded.
• Experience in a financial services/regulated context highly regarded.
• Highly developed knowledge of market best practice and competitive landscape in relation to technology procurement and contracting.
• Ability to triage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional stakeholder and project management skills with the ability to proactively provide strategic and customer-centric solutions.
• Passionate about continuous improvement and development, including leveraging technology to provide legal services more efficiently.
