Form of workEnergy Queensland has two permanent opportunities for a Senior Standards Engineerlocated at either Brisbane (Newstead) or a major regional Queensland office (Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba).
The Senior Standards Engineer is responsible for developing standards, specifications, policies, and procedures that provide clear direction to stakeholders involved with the selection, design, installation, commissioning, and operation of assets connected to the Queensland grid as well as Energy Queensland’s generation assets.
About your new role:
You will have shown expertise in engineering calculations, analysis techniques, and various standards including embedded and mobile generation, isolated systems, customer connections, Queensland Electricity Connections, and metering.
You are a subject matter expert and effortlessly guide various projects and activities with professional technical leadership. You will lead teams and customers by demonstrating the Energy Queensland values, encouraging open communication, continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-workgroup collaboration.
You will provide professional engineering advice and make recommendations based on engineering policies, regulations, standards, and practices. Additionally, you will formulate policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to undertake and lead standards projects activities.
About you:
You arrive with a degree in electrical engineering or be a member of the institute of engineers Australia (MIEAust) and be registered as a professional engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
You possess extensive experience in standards development and customer engagement, excel in building customer loyalty and trust, and can adapt in the dynamic energy market for long-term sustainability.
Your written and oral communication skills will enable effective negotiation and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
You will collaborate and resolve complex technical and engineering problems to be able to be a part of a team of professionals focussed on delivering results.
If you are adaptable to change, able to work enthusiastically and as part of a team without daily on-site supervision, and can collaborate with other staff using digital tools, then this role is for you.
