North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.
The role
To assist in the preparation, development, documentation and implementation of Council’s strategic planning policies with a particular focus on housing and affordability.
You will assist the Team Leader Policy and Manager Strategic Planning, develop and refine affordable housing and general housing policy in a dynamic policy environment as well as providing technical guidance, coaching and support to more junior staff members.
The role will require the successful candidate to foster partnerships and collaborations internally and with government and non government bodies to further Council’s housing and affordability objectives.
How you'll make a difference
Housing affordability is a high priority for Council. Reporting to the Team Leader Policy, the role will lead the Council’s policy response to the planning for and the provision of affordable housing and respond to broader housing issues generally.

This position is a fixed term 3-year contract.
Salary Range: $103,706 to $123,835 per annum + $1,000 pa transport allowance + 11% superannuation
