The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with local QLD residential experience to join our diverse Residential Section in our Brisbane office. Our Residential (dwellings) Section helps our clients with a range of design, documentation and detailing for single and double storey homes, and custom-built residences.
In this role, you will:
- Build, maintain and develop relationships with clients, liaising with them on all aspects of their design requirements;
- Work with clients to understand their requirements and provide cost effective designs and solutions within designated timeframes;
- Ensure that engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards and Structerre's design philosophy, in addition to the Company's technical procedures and standardised processes;
- Perform structural inspections on-site, and prepare technical reports on these;
- Provide technical advice to staff within and outside the Section, and to external clients, as required.
- Provide leadership to, and assist in the development of, other engineers through guidance and instruction;
- Interpret architectural drawings for structural design consideration, and extract relevant information.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a client-focused individual to hit the ground running who has Australian residential engineering experience. Standout applicants must have previous experience in the Australian residential market, a 'can do' attitude and eye for detail in addition to demonstrating the following:
- A completed Civil/Structural Engineering Degree that is recognised by Engineers Australia (required);
- 5 to 10 years’ experience;
- A strong client focus and desire to deliver practical, sustainable and effective engineering solutions;
- Excellent communication skills;
- A high level of initiative and proactivity, particularly in relation to creative problem solving;
- A sound understanding of mentoring and coaching techniques;
- A valid Construction White Card;
- A valid Drivers’ Licence;
- RPEQ status would be prefereed.
