The Clinical Information System Support Unit (CISSU) team are seeking a Senior System Support Officer to provide operational configuration management and change processes for the applications that supports the requirements and service activities of supports Pathology, Forensic and Scientific Services and the wider for Queensland Health and Clients.
The role:
You will be responsible for:
- High level interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders with a view to providing clear understanding of Information Technology related problems and solutions (NHS: Collaborative working 1/2, SFIA Codes: RLMT 4).
- Participate in formal change and problem management practices by developing, troubleshooting, configuration management, testing, validation, and documentation of all changes in responsibility area.
- Support the business analysis of requirements for any new areas of implementation and development by providing input and advice in relation to configuration issues.
- Sound level of competency in the support of information systems, application problem solving, the application of professional judgement and the formulation of application solutions to meet customer needs (SFIA Codes: CSMG 4; SLMO 4).
- Demonstrated ability to follow ITIL Service Operation processes (primarily incident / problem / change, configuration management) including the ability to provide second tier ICT Desktop support in a modern, large network (SFIA Codes: USUP 4; PBMG 4; CHMG 3; CFMG 3).
- Undertake and assist with analysis, development, implementation and support for technical software within the organisation and other systems internal and external to Queensland Health.

- Ability to apply information technology skills to solve technical, network and application problems.
- Experience in providing excellent client service in the provision of configuration and application support within a best practice information technology management framework.
- Proven ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with staff at all levels within and external to Queensland Health, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes, and accountabilities.
This role requires the applicant to have knowledge of software configuration as well as sound IT skills
Specific Working Conditions:
- While not mandatory QGCPO Level 3 Advanced procurement or Level 4 Strategic Procurement or equivalent would be highly regarded.
