The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and advice to a group of ICT professionals involved in the operational support and maintenance of a diverse range of enterprise class server, SAN, virtualisation, and Data Centre infrastructure.
- Lead the analysis and timely resolution of system issues within a complex ICT environment.
- Co-ordinate and manage the identification, assessment and briefing to staff and management of new and emerging software technologies, products, methods, techniques, and services.
- Assist with introduction and use of techniques, methodologies, tools, and services to match overall current and future business requirements.
- Engage with vendors, other business units and management to develop successful working relationships that enhance the effective management of the Data Centre environment.
- Manage the implementation of processes and procedures, tools, and techniques for designing, monitoring, managing, and reporting on the performance and availability of ICT systems and services.
Highly Desirable skills/requirements:
- Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008/2012, RedHat Linux, HPUX)
- Active Directory, ADFS
- Email (MS Exchange), Exchange Online
- Virtual Infrastructure (VMware ESX/ESXi5.x/6.x, vCentre, SRM, View)
- Backup and Restore (EMC Networker, Data Domain, EMC Avamar, IBM TSM)
- Monitoring/Alerting (SCOM, Splunk, ObserveIT)
- Management (HP OneView, IBM Director, Dell OpenManage)
- Scripting (PowerShell)
- SAN Technologies (EMC Unisphere VMAX//VNX/Centera/VPLEX, IBM SVC/V7000, Hitachi HUS)
Desirable skills/requirements:
- Directory Services (Group Policy)
- DNS / DHCP / WINS
- Windows Clustering / Network Load Balancing
- Windows Distributed File System
- Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Cloud hosting operations support (Azure, AWS)
Special Conditions
This position is required to:
- Perform some duties after-hours on a scheduled basis.
- Provide on-call support as part of a 24/7 roster.
- Undertake occasional shift work as required.
