Duties
Work both collaboratively and with independence, judgement and initiative to:
Working to the Director, Data and Strategic Projects.
- Undertake research and analysis of the new VET Information Standard (VIS) and STARS system and contribute to planning for data migration and business process changes required to 1) maintain BAU functionality under the new VET Information Standard and STARS system, and 2) support system transformation pathways.
- Provide critical input to the Skills Tasmania Core Systems Replacement Project (technology options, systems transition/transformation, data migration, business analysis and process improvement).
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key Skills Tasmania stakeholders across training operations, policy and data teams, CSRP steering group members, commonwealth government Stakeholders and National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and represent Tasmania in relevant VDS and VIS technical forums.
- Contribute to systems administration and analysis for Skills Tasmania's Laurel system for managing funding agreements, data reporting and payments to registered training organisations (RTOs), including BAU and technical support for Laurel payments, reporting, RTO quarterly AVETMISS submissions.
- Coordinate Laurel system development for business and reporting improvement projects, including for the 12-Month Skills Agreement 2023. Test and implement new reporting systems; resolve technical, operational, systems and data issues; and work to ensure that development work is aligned with CSRP objectives and National Data Reforms including the new National VET Information Standard.
- A tertiary qualification and/or experience in business analysis, project management, management information systems, information and communications technologies, or a related field would be considered advantageous.
- An understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, including apprenticeships and traineeships would be beneficial.
- An understanding of reporting standards used in the VET system would be highly beneficial.
