As part of our Autonomous Systems group, the Senior Systems Engineer will support the engineering team in the design activities including workshops, supplier reviews, the derivation of requirements of products, implementation, verification and test, for Autonomous Systems programs and opportunities. They are a specialist in either requirements or architecture and independently perform complex system integration and deployment tasks, as well as providing technical leadership and guidance as required.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Apply sound Systems Engineering principles across the full SE lifecycle
- Identify, develop, and manage requirements for systems, sub-systems and product components
- Prepare briefing material to support system reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR etc.)
- Derive system requirements, define the test requirements and participate in and/or manage the conduct of system design and system requirements reviews
- Conduct the development of candidate solutions against requirements including their optimisation and present the solution in design reviews and/or manage the conduct of these reviews
- Conduct the functional analysis to identify the optimum solution against a set of requirements
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
About youYour skills and experience will include:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related technical discipline
- Producing and reviewing technical documentation
- Developing complex systems in a similar domain and magnitude
- Engineering in a defence regulatory or equivalent environment (e.g. LMSM, aerospace, transport, infrastructure)
- Demonstrated awareness and ability to address whole of system requirements and design issues such as environmental, EMI/C, safety and ILS as well as business and commercial needs
- Working across the Systems Engineering lifecycle
- Understanding of the engineering lifecycles of defence projects (or those from adjacent industries)
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 clearance.
