Your responsibilities will include:
Lockheed Martin (LM) is contracted to the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). As part of Engineering Support Contract (ESC), LM provides support on the Jindalee Over the Horizon RADAR Network (JORN).
You will work within the Systems Engineering IPT in an “Above-the-Line” capacity embedded within the HF Radar Program Office (HFRPO).
You will primarily be responsible for:
- Providing Commonwealth input to the technical design and solution into the Systems Engineering IPT to ensure the design and solution meets the AIR2025-6 technical and support requirements
- Supporting the JORN V&V program, ensuring the Commonwealth satisfies its contractual obligations to execute the Test Evaluation (T&E) program, including the test planning, execution and reporting for all T&E activities associated with verifying AIR2025-6 CoA responsible requirements
- Identifying, and liaising with technical stakeholders to determine needs, rationale, and objectives, and using such insights to collaboratively agree mutually acceptable technical outcomes
- Supporting the JORN Systems Team as required in the development of the technical scope of ESC tasks in collaboration with DST Group (where applicable)
- Providing technical performance and technical risk identification and mitigation by providing expert advice that informs design reviews and technical program planning for HFRPO engineering teams (Systems, Surveillance & Operations Centre IPT)
- Participating in CoA Systems IPT team meetings (including stand-up meetings), sprint planning, activity tracking and retrospectives
- Participating in CoA Surveillance or Ops Centre IPT activities as required on a priority basis
- Supporting the CoA Systems IPT Lead with all CoA T&E related and IPT related work
- Supporting ESC POC as required to provide leadership amongst ESC staff embedded within CoA IPT teams
About you:
To be successful in securing this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering etc.) from a recognised institution
- Strong knowledge of the JORN Radars and/or working history on JORN or a related area, such as Microwave Radar
- Demonstrate skills and experience in developing complex systems across the hardware and software domain
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of engineering methods, design and development
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering
- Demonstrated past experience with Defence V&V programs
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with personnel at different levels and from various disciplines
- Experience in the Australian Defence Industry
- Current or re-instatable NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance
- Understanding of RF Engineering, RF Testing (highly desirable)
