VICPOL Intelligence and Covert Support Command (ICSC) has a Special Projects Unit (SPU) IT division that supports and manages a discrete infrastructure. This system provides services 24/7 and is a core part of operations. Individuals within the close SPU IT team work cohesively to install, operate, and manage equipment and support our system users.
We are looking for a talented System and Network Administrator with expertise in Windows Server, Unix, VMware, and networking. The successfully applicant will have a strong background in managing complex IT environments and a passion for delivering effective solutions and resolving complex problems.

Your duties will include:
- Assisting in the design and deployment of the physical and virtualised system architecture.
- Monitoring performance and ensuring optimal operation of the platforms.
- Reporting and resolving any identified issues for users and with vendors.
- Advising on improvements and enhancements to optimise and enhance performance
- Knowledge in Networks, Hardware and Software deployment and operations
- A Background with a Telecommunications or Computer services organisation
- Ability to work within a small team and directly with end users
- IT or Telco qualification and or 5 years industry experience.
- One (1) ongoing permanent position is available. Normal hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, 5 days per week.
- After hours coverage is on a rotational roster and part of our 24 / 7 operation.
- This is a Victoria Public Service VPS5 salary range.
- The Position location is Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
