Raytheon Australia has been providing airborne adversarial Electronic Warfare (EW) training for Australian Defence Force warfare and command teams since 2001. We deliver this capability using a highly modified special mission Learjet 35A aircraft configured to simulate real-world airborne EW threats in differing electromagnetic environments across all combat domains.
Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Tactical Check Captain / Headof Training and Checking (HOTAC) to work closely with the Head of Operations to support the Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS) contract.
This position is based in the beautiful Shoalhaven region on the South Coast of NSW. Remote basing may also be considered. Your role as a Senior Tactical Check Captain and HOTAC will be critical to the ongoing delivery of EW training to the Australian Defence Force.
The role
- Fulfil the key personnel role of Head of Training and Checking for the Raytheon Flight Operations Department in accordance with CASR Part 138
- Act as a Tactical Training andCheck Captain within the Raytheon JATTS Training and Check System
- Act as Captain or Co-Pilot in both tactical and non-tactical roles on Raytheon aircraft
- Perform duties of Deployment Commander on a rotational basis with other aircrew
- Represent Raytheon JATTS at planning conferences, meetings and participate in exercise/mission briefings
- Assist the Head of Operations (HOO) in the execution of the flying program and, if necessary, fulfil the role of alternate HOO in accordance with CASR Part 138
The person
Qualifications
- Previous Training and/or Check Captain approval under CASR Part 121, 135 or 138
- Valid CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- CASR Part 61 CPL (A) with MCC
- CASR Part 61 Low Level (Aeroplane) Rating
- CASR Part 61 Formation Flying Activity Endorsement
- CASR Part 61 MEA Instrument Rating with IAP 2D/3D
- Must hold or be eligible for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Must hold or be eligible for an NV1 Security Clearance issued by AGSVA
- Must have a valid Australian Passport
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of military flying experience (fighter type experience highly desirable)
- Minimum 3000 hours total time
- Minimum 1500 hours PIC
- Minimum 1000 hours turbine engine
- Minimum 300 flight hours conducting training in an aircraft of the category used by Raytheon
- Minimum of 6 months in the conduct or management of air operations
