AddressWe are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join the News Corp Finance team based in our Surry Hills office (next to Central station)
This is a permanent, full time position with hybrid working ( 3 days office, 2 days WFH).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of direct and indirect tax compliance obligations for the Australian tax group (e.g. GST, FBT,income tax), including quarterly tax forecasting and year end income tax reporting
- Providing tax advice to relevant stakeholders on various tax matters
- Assist with identifying, developing and implementing process improvements to increase operational efficiency of tax processes
- Assist with the management of tax regulatory authority reviews
- Ensure internal processes are compliant with existing tax laws by monitoring tax developments
- Mentor junior members of the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Ideally CA / CPA or near qualified
- Tax experience gained in a large, complex corporate organisation or a large chartered accounting firm
- Demonstrated experience in preparing GST, FBT company tax returns and other compliance obligations. Tax effect accounting knowledge and experience is preferred
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal skills to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work autonomously but also be a team player
- Experience with tax software including CCH Integrator and FBT OneSource.
