Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Service Stream Ltd.’s Tax Team for 12 months. The primary role of this person will be to help set up the tax function for success post Service Stream’s acquisition of Lendlease Services whilst also assisting with day-to-day compliance work.
The ideal candidate must have basic tax experience across Income Tax, GST and FBT. They have also played a role in tax process and control enhancement initiatives and have a continuous improvement mindset.
The position
Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, your role as Senior Tax Accountant will include but not be limited to:
• Leading the preparation of annual Australian income tax returns (including Service Stream’s main tax consolidated group).
• Providing guidance to the broader business on any tax issues that arise in consultation with the Tax Manager.
• Researching various tax issues and preparing internal tax memos as required.
• Leading the preparation of deferred income tax accounting calculations.
• Managing Fringe Benefits Tax compliance reviews and submissions.
• Assisting with internal policy reviews from a tax perspective.
• Working with the broader business to review, improve and document internal tax controls.
• Preparing and/or reviewing monthly business activity statements.
• Identifying process and system improvements for enhanced efficiency.
• Assisting with tax payment forecasting.
• Maintaining accurate tax documentation and staying updated with tax legislation.
Qualifications & experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in a medium to large corporate, alternatively from a Mid-Tier or Big 4 accounting firm looking for your first step into industry.
• CA or CPA qualified.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a desire to learn about the business.
• Strong foundational technical knowledge of Income Tax, GST, FBT and AASB 112.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
