Senior Technical Officer - Biomedical Electronics

This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Fixed Term Full Time appointment/s with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile: The Senior Technical Officer – Biomedical Electronics, as a member of a team is responsible to provide an efficient, effective, and timely service in relation to the implementation, repair, maintenance, quality assurance and installation of medical equipment and systems.

The successful applicant joins a team in the Technical Services Division of Health Technology Management Unit (HTMU) supporting sites across the East Metropolitan and South Metropolitan Health Services. 

The position will be required to be based at either the Peel Health Campus, Rockingham General Hospital or Fremantle Hospital.  The position may be required to work across these sites to meet operation requirements.

Area Profile:  The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area. 

Our hospital network works together to provide a combination of tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s and neonates services.

The EMHS consists of Royal Perth Hospital; Armadale Health Service; Bentley Health Service; Kalamunda Hospital; St John of God Midland Public Hospital and a range of community and population health services. 

In late 2020 the WA Government announced that full operation of the Peel Health Campus will transition to SMHS on the completion of the current contract with existing private operator Ramsay Health Care in August 2024. Peel Health Campus is a general hospital located in the City of Mandurah, 75 km south of Perth, originally opened in 1988 as the 32-bed Mandurah District Hospital, and now operates with 206 licenced beds, bays and treatment areas.
