Problem Statement:
WA - Bank has enlisted the contract market to assist in defining, establishing, and implementing a Test Automation framework for our Java Lending Origination system, Lendnet. This involves utilizing automation tools and scripting languages such as Playwright (UI), JMeter (Service Layer), and JavaScript.
Background:
Lendnet is our proprietary online lending system used for end-to-end processing of loan applications, including Home Loans, Personal Loans, and Credit Cards. Lendnet interfaces with various upstream and downstream systems, including third-party entities. Currently, our Lendnet end-to-end regression testing is built on TOSCA, but as part of this initiative, we aim to migrate away from TOSCA. Approximately 110 medium to complex E2E test cases are involved in this migration.
Note:
As part of the migration solution, we are re-evaluating the current scope, particularly for E2E UI automation. Our goal is to maximize test coverage at a decoupled functional level (e.g., service/API layer testing using JMeter) and retain only essential E2E flows at the UI automation level (via Playwright). This strategy is intended to enhance efficiency while maintaining sufficient coverage through targeted tests.
Scope of Work and Skillset:
Scope:

• Build UI layer Test Automation framework (using Playwright)
• Build Service/API layer Test Automation framework (using JMeter)
• Migrate the current TOSCA regression suite to the above frameworks (Lendnet SMEs will provide support to address any functional queries)
• Produce delivery documents and other testing governance-related deliverables
• Integrate the new solution with TeamCity and CI/CD build pipeline
• Provide weekly progress/status reports to applicable stakeholders

Skills:
Expertise in Playwright, JMeter, and test automation using JavaScript
Hands-on experience in writing test automation frameworks from scratch
Knowledge of CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Octopus, etc.
