The Senior Wildlife Officer role advertised provides leadership and direction to the Daisy Hill Koala Centre and oversees the day-to-day operations of the centre. The role also provides support to the delivery of priority actions related to the SEQ Koala Conservation Strategy 2020-2025. A strong focus of the role will be on establishing and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with stakeholders including QPWS&P regions, other divisions, state and local governments, industry stakeholders, universities and the community to support Koala Conservation.

As the Senior Wildlife Officer, you will effectively lead and manage a geographically dispersed team developing local strategies, procedures and practices. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including traditional owners. You will interpret legislation, regulations and other guidelines and provide information, advice, and education to the public, industry, and other key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will plan and manage emergency response, critical incidents (including marine animal stranding's and entanglements and oiled wildlife incidents), compliance and enforcement operations. You will plan, develop and oversee implementation and reporting of annual work programs and project plans and contribute to the preparation of corporate and strategic plans at agency, division and branch level.
