Based in Bavaria, Germany, Hundegger are world leaders in fully automated, CNC solid timber processing machinery for engineered timber products such as Glulam, CLT, LVL and other engineered wood products. With an office located in Rowville Victoria, Hundegger Australasia Pty Ltd are also a major supplier to the frame and truss and pre-fabrication manufacturing industry around Australia and New Zealand, with the benchmark Hundegger SPEED-Cut and TURBO-Drive 5-axis machines. We have a Sales, Spare Parts and Remote Service facility in Rowville, and together with our NZ based staff, service and support over 130 installations across Australia and New Zealand. New projects are also managed locally in New Zealand and Australia.
Job Title: Service Engineer
Job Location: Melbourne based, with regular travel to state capitals and regions around Australia
Role Responsibilities:
1. Scheduled Servicing and repair of Hundegger machinery at customer sites
2. Carry out in depth technical investigations of any system issues
3. Diagnose and correct any failures or defects incurred during operation in a timely manner
4. Fabrication of parts, assembly of parts on machinery inhouse and on site.
5. Ensure all installation safety requirements and protocols, including all adherence to SWMS and SOP’s are intact and up to date
6. Production monitor and assist/advise customer on process improvements.
7. Interpreting engineering drawings, advising of spec, tolerances and producing parts on various inhouse engineering equipment.
8. Install new machinery – stand alone or integrated with automated systems at customer sites
9. Adding ideas and contributing where possible to the market success of the Hundegger product and overall company efficiency
10. Being a positive and contributing member of the Hundegger Team and leading by example

Due to the diverse range of Hundegger Machinery and the geographical spread of our valued clients – this role does require frequent local and interstate travel and is a requirement of the role.
Before applying, you will have:
- Qualified fitter or Turner.
- Experience as a multi-axis CNC wood working machinery Service Engineer/Technician, (or other multi-axis CNC experience) with Electrical/ Mechanical Trade skills
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Solid computer skills
- Willingness to work autonomously as a Service Technician
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of general mechanical and pneumatic equipment
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Solution orientated approach in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and Remote diagnostic skills
