Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation and Control Engineering Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation and control systems to optimize our processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify automation requirements and develop comprehensive technical specifications.
- Programming and configuring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Conducting thorough testing and validation of automation systems to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for automation equipment and systems.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation capabilities and drive operational excellence.
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Automation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing, programming, and commissioning automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and SCADA software.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional) are a plus.
