Gatton Kindergarten is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic person to take on the role of Service Leader starting in Term 3.
Gatton Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community kindergarten that has been providing care and support to families within the Lockyer Valley since 1955.
We are committed to providing a caring, motivating, and safe environment for families, where children can engage in interactive play and learning that supports their growth and development.
Gatton Kindergarten is a two room (4 program), long day care model kindergarten offering extended hours (7.30am to 5.30pm) and providing care for around 44 children aged 3-5 years per day. The successful applicant will work alongside the teaching staff and educators, volunteer Parent Management Committee, QLECS CSM and part time office administrator to make sure the kindergarten is maintaining all the regulatory requirements while providing safe and naturing community environment.
You will be joining a team who enjoy working in a busy, fun and exciting environment. Our goal is to ensure our kindergarten staff, parents and children are warmly welcomed and valued.
The Role
This role is a non-contact permanent position Monday to Friday, with four weeks annual leave when the kindergarten closes over the Christmas and New Year period. You will be responsible for overseeing all areas of the Service’s operations and take on the role of Nominated Supervisor. The Service Leader is the main facilitator for building strong relationships and connections between families, the community, and the Service. You will be committed to excellence in leadership and support to the existing team of dedicated and passionate educators.
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor of Early Childhood or Diploma of Children Services.
- Previous experience in a leadership and management role within the early childhood sector.
- Current First Aid Qualifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
- Current child protection training.
- Current National Police Check.
- Exceptional knowledge of current Childcare Legislation and the National Quality Laws and Regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff, children, and families positively, proactively, and regularly.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement in collaboration with the team, families, children and community.
- Ability to ensure compliance across the service in relation to legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated fiscal management and budgeting skills.
- Sound computer skills.
- Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lutheran Church.
