About the role:
This new position is for a dynamic and talented leader to step into the role of Service Manager in ourQLD Central Alternative Care Program based in the Yeppoon region.
The Alternative CareService Manager position is a key leadership and operational management role that has a strong focus on directly supporting and mentoring a team of direct support staff to achieve life and goal plans for the young people.
You will oversee the quality and output of services, leading by best practice example, and be a hands-on support for staff where required and in situations of complexity. You will be competent in establishing and maintaining key relationships and be an enthusiastic and competent leader demonstrating core capability in team financials, operational requirements, organisational and human resource processes whilst working closely with these departments.
This role is based in a house five (5) days per week Monday to Friday and is non direct care. This role is initially being offered as a 12 month fixed term position, being advertised both externally and internally.
About You:
- Possess frontline Management Skills by leading/supporting direct care workers to achieve meaningful and individualised outcomes for the young people
- Have leadership skills; including staff management, staff learning and development in staff performance and review
- Have Child Protection, Youth Services or relevant Child, Youth and/or Family service knowledge/experience.
- Have experience in contact management and operational planning; including reporting, analysis, compliance, and financial management (budgeting and financial forecasting)
Training/Qualifications:
- A minimum a Cert IV Child, Youth & Family Intervention (Residential Care) or hold another recognised qualification in Community, Youth Work or Human Services; or relevant diploma/tertiary qualification.
