About the Program:
CPSP provides non-clinical community-based mental health support to children 7 – 17 years with severe mental illness and reduced psychosocial functional capacity who are not eligible for the NDIS. It does this by providing client-centred, family focused outreach interventions which are age appropriate, focused on emotional resilience and skill building, and respond to both the mental illness and related psychosocial impairments.
Mental Health Clinical Care Coordination (MHCCC) is also delivered alongside the psychosocial intervention. MHCCC allows for dual-care clinical mental health intervention designed to treat mental illness and build psychological and functional capacity, assisting individuals and their families.
About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the purpose of the Service Manager role is to lead, develop, implement, oversee and manage the operations of the program, ensuring funding and contractual obligations are met and services are delivered in accordance with internal procedures, industry best-practice standards and Department guidelines.
This is a full-time permanent position and is based in Yarrabilba.
The Service Manager must have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related allied health discipline. The role requires a hands on individual with a minimum of 2 years Senior Leadership experience and personnel management skills, strong clinical skills and experience, and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
This program requires the Service Manager to be responsible for;
- Leading and managing the staff of the service including monitoring work and caseloads through supervision, providing performance feedback, supporting professional development opportunities and ensuring all client support delivered by staff members is appropriate, ethical and in line with best practice and funding guidelines;
- Participation in stakeholder engagement and partnerships, including strategic development, stakeholder meetings, departmental performance and strategic meetings, for referral pathways and joint relationships;
- Managing the program budget, to ensure cost effective and programs structures are set to reach contractual requirements
- Analysing and interpreting service data to effectively plan and allocate resources;
- Ensure quality standards are adhered to and that opportunities to improve or streamline systems and processes are raised appropriately;
- Providing oversight and guidance related to risks to client safety; including domestic and family violence, bullying and suicide / deliberate self-harm, child protection issues and mandatory reporting (including breaking confidentiality and/or notifying third parties where this is required and appropriate);
- Undertaking all internal and external reporting and audit requirements to ensure ongoing compliance and continuation of services;
- Participating and/or representing the organisation at internal and external stakeholder events as requested by Chief Operations Officer and/or CEO.
Essential Selection Criteria:
SC1: Senior Leadership Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in a senior leadership role, specifically with demonstrated experience in overseeing team leader/s (direct reports) who have management responsibilities of team members.
SC2: Positive Workplace Culture: Demonstrated ability to create a culture of innovation and unity in the workplace, while understanding and addressing team needs in alignment with organisational goals.
SC3: Staff Management: Proficiency in all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, orientation, supervision, performance reviews and staff development.
SC4: Program Development and Management: Proven skills in program planning, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation, ensuring efficient and effective utilisation of allocated resources.
SC5: Clinical Leadership Competence: Strong clinical leadership skills in a mental health service settings, including managing risk and reporting internally and externally in complex service environment.
SC6: Effective Communication: Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Applicants Must:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related allied health discipline;
- Have a current driver's license and a reliable, fully insured motor vehicle;
- Hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children Check;
- Have the ability to pass suitability checks (e.g. criminal history);
