Iresponsible for coordinating the service department to ensure maximum productivity by effectively scheduling technicians and service appointments. Ensuring the yard is in good housekeeping order and equipment is positioned to maximize effective use of the facility. Ensure all quoting for PMP, repairs, and damage is completed on time.
Qualifications & experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role and knowledge within the Forklift Industry or similar position held within the mining and construction industry
- Mechanical / Electrical trade qualification is essential.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management and subordinates.
- Demonstrates high levels of initiative and judgment.
- High levels of oral and written communication skills.
- Sound experience in supervising people.
- Proven ability to multitask.
- Have initiative in planning and execution.
- Competent commercially and IT skills.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in executing the business plan.
- Building a service operation in line with the business plan.
- Promote a positive and productive culture underpinned by the company’s Code of Conduct especially within the service department.
- Manage the service department personnel in terms of leave, discipline, overtime and training.
- Ensuring the rental department is supplied equipment in A1 condition ready for hire as required.
- Ensure retail and internal PMP’s are planned, booked in conjunction with the Melbourne branch, and carried out “on time”.
- Keep abreast of all activity within the service area to ensure we meet and exceed the customers’ expectations.
- Develops an annual training program supported by manufacturers and outside/inside training sources to ensure a high level of technical support for technicians.
- Reviews manufacturer’s technical bulletins, distributes to them to the appropriate people with in the service department and maintain a library of them for future reference.
- Ensure that the customers that are phoned from Melbourne (centralised function) are arranged for mutual agreement on maintenance and repair booking times are followed up routinely to ensure we are meeting their expectations.
