The Service Technician is a member of the Operations Team and is accountable for the effective planning, preparation, and delivery of machinery installations, servicing, and repairs.
Key to success in the role will be delivering a service to customers that is cost effective, timely and of a high standard whilst effectively communicating to team members to ensure all related activities are achieved.
Main responsibilities:
- Servicing of all Propak machinery.
- Maintain service schedule for customers.
- Costing up service jobs.
- Installation and regular maintenance of customers machines – onsite.
- When required intrastate or interstate travel required for installation/service.
- Set up, testing, and packing new machinery for dispatch.
- Quality Control any issues with new machinery, report and follow up.
- Ensure that all machines are packed safely with appropriate packing.
- Ensure that all requirements for installation are checked
- Provide equipment details to internal teams (Customer Service, Finance & Procurement)
- Conduct regular stock takes, maintain and source spare parts.
- Co-ordinate with interstate technicians for repairs, advise customer service of breakdown and technician repairing.
- Assist in warehouse when required, including assistance with unloading containers.
- Refurbishing 2nd hand machines.
- Sharing the maintaining of 1800 service call line after hours.
- Liaise with interstate technicians and provide support where required.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers for operation issues with machinery.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a serving/machine maintenance.
- Working knowledge of the packaging industry.
- Minimum class b electrical licence or other trade.
- Forklift License.
- WHS and Manual Handling training.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- High level of planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent at solving problems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate a variety of machinery, tools, and equipment.
- High mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Intermediate level of skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and email).
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Embrace technology to drive efficiencies and productivity.
- Responsible for maintaining an organised and tidy workspace and work vehicle.
- Ability to maintain tools and general equipment.
