Salary - $106,025 - $117,363pa plus superannuation

Your role

Operating as part of a statewide multidisciplinary team, provide coordination and supervision of primary and tertiary specialised Services and consultation provided by SDS staff to people on orders across NSW with cognitive, sensory, and physical disabilities. Provide subject matter expertise in consultations with staff at custodial and community settings regarding the management of people with disability on orders.

Provide input to statutory authorities including NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and National Disability Insurance Agency. Work collaboratively with Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network, and other stakeholders by participating in case conference reviews and providing expertise regarding the intersections of disability, disadvantage and contact with the criminal justice system.

Manage and triage waitlists, proactively review work priorities in consultation with manager and other Team Leaders, and complete internal documentation as per CSNSW and SDS business processes.

What you'll do

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in the coordination of a range of end-to-end Services and processes to meet the needs of people with disability in custody. This may include consultation and advocacy regarding the provision of reasonable adjustments in custody, coordination of consent, allocation of assessments, reports or referrals to team members, facilitating case conferences for pre-release planning with external stakeholders, coordination and completion of NDIS applications.

What we're looking for

Motivated and dedicated Team Leaders with experience in

  • Working in multidisciplinary teams and communicating clearly and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Disability or mental health case management
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of contemporary correctional programs and practices and their practical application
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, motivating and assisting staff to perform their duties efficiently and effectively to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.

To excel in this role, strong administrative skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and pivot between priorities and operational demands, and high-level communication and influencing skills to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders is required.
