The National School of Education is the largest provider of initial teacher education in Australia with a strong reputation for its high quality, work-ready graduates. Adding to its traditional strengths in early childhood, primary and secondary initial teacher education, the National School of Education's disciplines reflect key strengths in the areas of early childhood, mathematics and literacy education, the arts, science and technology, educational studies, teacher professional practice, assessment, educational leadership, Indigenous education, and wellbeing and inclusive education. These disciplines are evidenced both in the undergraduate programs and through its extensive postgraduate coursework programs with strong enrolments. The ACU Faculty of Education and Arts, National School of Education is calling for expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants for inclusion on an eligibility list for casual teaching positions in the following discipline areas:
- Digital education/digital pedagogies
- Educational leadership
- Inclusive education and disability studies
- Indigenous education, culture and perspectives
- Early Childhood and/or Primary Education - Specialist teacher - English/literacy
- Early Childhood and/or Primary Education - Specialist teacher - Creative Arts
- Early Childhood and/or Primary Education - Specialist teacher - Mathematics/numeracy
- Early Childhood and/or Primary Education - Specialist teacher - Science and/or Technology
- Early Childhood and/or Primary Education - Specialist teacher - PDHPE
- Psychology of Education
- Secondary Education - Mathematics
- Sociology of Education
- TESOL Curriculum and Assessment
- Teacher professional learning
- Professional experience tertiary supervision
Responsibilities:
Sessional academics will engage in activities such as tutoring, marking, student consultations and other administrative tasks on-campus, online and/or a combination of both.
You will need to have:
- To teach postgraduate units: A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline area.
- To teach undergraduate units: A masters degree.
- Current knowledge and teaching experience to the discipline area in tertiary, secondary, primary or pre-school levels.
- Enthusiasm to contribute to and engage with learning and teaching.
- Capacity to effectively utilise and engage with digital technologies and resources for learning and teaching.
- Applicants should demonstrate awareness of the University's Mission and Catholic ethos and demonstrate an understanding of how this role serves the Mission
- Applicants should demonstrate commitment to cultural diversity and ethical practice principles and demonstrate knowledge of equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety, appropriate to the level of the appointment
