About Our Facility
Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.
The Barwon South West Public Health Unit has a key role in Sexual Reproductive Health to coordinate partnerships and strengthen access and referral pathways across the region.
About the Role
The 2019 review of Victorian Sexual Health and Service Needs identified the need for a more localised, networked system architecture to meet population needs and service demand. This role represents an opportunity to improve the service delivery system in Sexual, Reproductive Health (SRH) for the Barwon South West region. The successful applicant will undertake sexual reproductive health needs analysis and service mapping for the region. They will consult with providers, agencies and existing networks and build community awareness and engagement activities across the region. The position will work to support regional public health interventions with a specific focus on SRH. The SRH Nurse role consists of the SRH component of a broader initiative to address Sexual Reproductive Health and Viral Hepatitis across Barwon South West.

Essential: Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with no practicing restrictions
Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification in sexual reproductive health, public health or related field.
Essential: Experience working within a community based environment in the field of community health and/or sexual health
Desirable: Clinical Leadership experience.
