Sheet Metal - Plate Rolling/Bending/Machine Operator

We are currently looking for a Skilled Sheet Metal worker, with high level mechanical aptitude to join our rapidly growing business manufacturing products for the landscape industry under our SHAPESCAPER brand.

The position will primarily be rolling rings and bending custom planters and garden beds.

Full time position available.  Flexible Start /finish times for the right candidate (our hours are 6:00am to 6:00pm)

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow list of jobs and orders and complete in a timely manner
• Measure, cut, roll, bend, assemble etc garden edging, tree rings, custom planter boxes and other projects as required
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
• If you have no work in your area assist manufacturing in any area/machine that requires it
• Other tasks as directed

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

Qualifications:

• Fork Lift license

Experience:

3 years experience in a similar role or industry

Skills:  

• Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings
• Program and make adjustments to bend programs
• Proficient in using measuring equipment. (vernier, protractor, tape measure)
• Cutting, grinding
• Plate rolling
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Organised and able to meet deadlines
• Work autonomously
• Prioritize work flow in a manner that is most efficient.

PERFORMANCE GOALS: 

• Complete tasks on time
• Keep a reasonable amount of stock items ready (buffer for when you may be sick or away)
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality
