With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.
Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.
About the Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel for the permanent position of Shift Electrician based at the Pioneer Mill, located in the Burdekin region, QLD.
This is a permanent role working a day/ night rotating roster for the crushing season and day work roster for the Maintenance season.
Primary responsibilities:
- Installation, calibration and maintenance of electrical equipment
- Examines, diagnose and modify systems comprising inter-connected circuits.
- Maintain departments plans, data bases and other documentation
- Commissioning and tuning of electrical systems
- Fault finding of complex electrical control systems involving some combination of pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor based and/or mechanical subsystems.
- Lead and participate in special projects as required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A current Queensland Electrical Work Licence to perform work of Electrical Mechanic and Electrical Fitter / Instrumentation
- Post trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation installation, commissioning and maintenance
- A strong commitment to safety with involvement in safety/improvement teams
