Pivotal to our continued success is the addition of a motivated and enthusiastic Shift Fitter to join our high-performing Maintenance Team.
About The Role
We currently have an opportunity for an action orientated Shift Fitter to join our team based in our rough moulded fiber manufacturing site at Preston.
Specifically, your responsibilities will be on the preventative maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment to meet the company's requirements. You will also be required to maintain equipment in accordance with the plans to achieve performance levels of availability, reliability, cost, safety and quality of operation.
The right candidate will be hard working, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and will be accountable and reliable.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Conducting fixed plant maintenance
- Identifying faults and swiftly performing breakdown repairs to minimize downtime and micro-stops in production machinery and equipment
- Inspecting, testing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in process and packaging areas
- Carrying out general plant and building maintenance work
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
- Flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs, including availability outside the shift roster. Facility shutdown period availability is required to support major maintenance activities.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Maintenance fitting role, preferably within a manufacturing setting
- Trade Qualification: Mechanical Fitter
- a valid forklift licence and are computer literate
- Honest, well-mannered, motivated and enjoy utilising your initiative to solve mechanical related problems in the process and plant environment
- Experience working in a fast paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the required safety standards
- MiG/tig/stick welding skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Exceptional diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings
- Strong ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
