About your role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join the Calcination team in the Whiteside department. Our focus is on safety and wellbeing, and we are looking for a leader who makes safety, culture, support, compassion and mentoring their number one priority.
Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a vast amount of responsibility. Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Calcination, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:
- Creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, supporting, mentoring, engaging, developing and coaching your team to achieve together
- Implementing safety improvements and co-ordinating activities to eliminate hazards
- Developing effective relationships with operational, maintenance and technical teams within the department and across site
- Planning and organising work to meet daily business targets
- Identifying and reporting on opportunities for improvement initiatives
- Managing costs to ensure delivery is met in the most cost-effective manner.
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated experience as a safety leader with a passion to influence safe working methods amongst your team
- Previous experience in a Supervisor/Leadership role would be advantageous
- The ability to successfully work within a team environment and build working relationships through effectively communicating, engaging and building trust with your team, peers, leaders and stakeholders
- Willingness to lead and implement change, influence, and mentor others
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads whilst ensuring accuracy in the workplace.
- A commitment to meeting safety, environment and business targets
- Excellent operational decision making and problem-solving skills combined with a desire to succeed in challenging situations
