We are looking for an exceptional Service Manager in our organisation to work with our participants and lead the high standards of care and support. As a Service Manager, you will oversee the implementation of individualised support within a challenging, Supported Independent Living, (SIL) setting. This role is available for an immediate start.
You will strengthen the knowledge and abilities of our Disability Support Worker team to ensure a person-centred and high-quality culture within the program. You will provide direct support and lead your team in a range of participant needs, including domestic and personal care assistance as well as assisting our participants to access and have a positive connection to the community. You will have a strong interaction with the family.
This position provides allotted time for administrative functions, team management, all whilst providing leadership and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers.
The Role:
The role is full-time permanent rostered for shifts weekly schedule which includes afternoons, nights and weekends and sleepovers both passive and active if required. The duties are primarily located in the homes of the people we support.
- To be responsible for all operational functions of the participant/s allocation including but not limited to:
- Person centred support to participant/s, their guardians, and where appropriate family members.
- Leasing with Allied health professionals
- Support with the activities of daily living
- Safe and welcoming environment for participants, staff, and visitors
- Development and implementation of staff work schedules/rosters
- Financial management of the service
- Sustainable staff support that meets customers’ needs and service’s expectations
- Provide Practice leadership to staff including:
- Conducting team meeting
- One to one supervision
- Allocating and organising staff
- Modelling and coaching
- Quality of life outcomes
- To ensure that the operation of the housing and supported independent living program is consistent with the principles and applications of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- To work with the relevant Managers and Directors to develop and implement systems, policies and procedures that comply with legal and funding requirements, manage risk and continuously improve service and to ensure consistency in support and processes across Supported Living
- Actively engage with participants in various environments to help them improve their independence and achieve their goals.
- Running site inductions for new Disability Support Workers and providing support during shift
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Previous professional experience in a service manager/coordinator role or similar (disability preferable)
- Extensive experience in mental health & disability
- APHRA registered member, and nursing background would be highly preferred.
- A high level of understanding of the NDIS.
- Ability to work with various external and internal stakeholders (including but not limited to Physiotherapist, OT, Speech Pathologist, GP, etc.)
- Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
- The ability to assess situations and make decisions under high pressure.
- Ability to form strong working relationships with Disability Support Workers

Your Essential Skills & Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you have experience in a similar role and have previously or are currently working in the disability and NDIS Sector and:
- Experience with participants that have highly challenging behaviours (essential)
- Experience in a service coordinator/manager for at least 5 years (desired)
- Technologically literate
- Certificate 4 or higher in Individual Support/Disability/related field (desired)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Clearance
- National Police Clearance
- Australian Driver's Licence
- First Aid/CPR/Manual Handling Certificates
- Medication Administration Certificate
- National Police Check (within last 3 years)
- Driver’s License that allows you to drive in South Australia
- Right to work in Australia
