About Us
Serco has a dedicated team of over 600 people supporting operations at Fiona Stanley Hospital and works in close partnership with the hospital leadership, WA Health, clinicians, and staff to deliver essential non-clinical facilities management, ICT and HR managed services. Our specialist team designs, manages and optimises the integrated services and are critical to the ongoing delivery of clinical services in Western Australia's largest and most digitally enabled public healthcare facility.

About the Opportunity 

Join our vibrant team at Fiona Stanley Hospital's Safety and Incident Management Service (SIMS) and be part of our mission to create Australia's premier healthcare environment. At SIMS, we are dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of all individuals, equipment, and the site. We take pride in our highly visible presence, engaging with individuals, and responding rapidly and professionally to safety, security, and emergency incidents. Reporting to the SIMS Team Leader, you'll play a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for our valued employees, patients, and visitors.

What you’ll be doing  

In this dynamic role, you'll showcase your excellent conflict resolution skills, effortlessly handling difficult and aggressive situations in a non-threatening and friendly manner. Your ability to adapt your verbal delivery based on the audience and setting will be invaluable. As a respectful and professional individual, you'll embody our values in every interaction, contributing to the positive atmosphere at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

About you - your ideal skills & experience  
•    Highest levels of integrity and ethical behavior
•    Holder of a WA Security Licence, Certificate II in Security Operations, and WA Driver's Licence (C class)
•    First Aid Certificate including CPR
•    Holder of a Working with Children card (or willing to obtain one)
•    Demonstrated extensive experience in a similar position preferably within a health environment
•    Competency in physical restraints techniques when responding to aggressive patients/visitors to Fiona Stanley Hospital
•    Experience with handheld Personal Digital Assistants (PDA’s) is desirable
•    Proven experience in conflict resolution including the ability to control difficult and aggressive situations
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and develop relationships with a range of stakeholders
•    A resilient nature to work in fast-paced, high-pressure, and at times confronting environment.
