Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the successful candidate must have a genuine interest in the day to day management and challenges of supervising a quarry operation, including responsibility for planning, organisation, safety performance, production targets, quality control, customer liaison and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent opportunity offering working days Monday to Saturday. The successful candidate will be supported by a quarry manager and a strong team of production/ plant operators.
Your day will involve:
Lead Safety and Environmental compliance and best practice across all activities to assist in achieving our goal of ZERO HARM;
The running of the operations on a day to day basis along with the Quarry Manager;
Supervise and coordinate all daily activities carried out on site;
Manage contractors and employees whilst ensuring compliance around legislation is managed and implemented;
Conduct inspections and report outcomes to ensure fixed mobile plant maintenance is carried out;
Manage stock inventory;
Promote, facilitate and initiate LEAN activities
- Operation of plant & equipment as required
What we are looking for:
You will thrive in leading, organising, and motivating production teams, with previous experience in leading roles in quarry or mining operations.
Demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations, crushing and screening processes and/or load and haul operations.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, all key when liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to drive results whilst prioritising various competing deadlines.
Ability to utilise your initiative and management skills to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise.
Strong leadership, people management, and/or mentoring skills, particularly when supporting driving compliance and a culture of HSE & Quality.
