The Honeymoon project is located in South Australia, is fully licensed for exports of up to 3.3mlb and is run by a strong management team which has leveraged off industry experts.
About the Role
We are offering an exciting position for a Site Cost Accountant. This role requires adaptability as the function and responsibilities continue to evolve. Collaborating closely with the Finance & Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Finance team. They will contribute to the enhancement of systems and processes while undertaking various accounting functions that will evolve and expand with the role over time.
This role will be combination of FIFO 4:3 Roster at our Honeymoon Uranium Mine site and 5:2 Roster based at our Adelaide CBD Office.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly monitor daily costs in collaboration with department heads or team members, taking into account outstanding Purchase Orders (POs).
- Provide support during month-end activities, including tasks such as accruals, re-allocation, valuation, reviewing, and reporting.
- Verify that costs are appropriately allocated to the correct accounts and aligned with the budget.
- Gather and reconcile physical data from stores and production.
- Identify transaction errors and propose solutions to rectify any issues that arise.
- Assist with the asset capitalisation, verification and disposal.
- Assist with annual budget and periodic forecasting.
About You
You will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, coupled with either CPA or CA qualification or currently pursuing certification.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of prior experience in management accounting.
- Previous experience in a comparable position within the mining industry will be considered advantageous.
- Possesses innate problem-solving abilities and exhibits strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Adept at presenting information tailored to the target audience's understanding.
- Experience with Pronto and Power BI is desirable.
