About the role:

  • The Site Lead – Lineworker is responsible for the routine supervision of field staff on the job performing construction, maintenance, and reactive works.
  • The Site Lead - Lineworker is also responsible for ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner to the standards required and in line with applicable rules and regulations.
  •  The Site Lead – Lineworker responsibilities also comprise enforcing safe work processes and behaviours and providing coaching and mentoring to team members on both technical and performance matters. The Site Lead - Lineworker is required to utilise information technology (IT) and other technologies in the workplace to support and achieve workplace efficiencies.
  •  The position is accountable for overseeing material, plant and equipment utilisation, and for providing accurate and timely reporting of incidents, job completion, team attendance and material usage.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical line work and activities involving the construction and maintenance of Evoenergy’s Electricity Network in accordance with the Lineworker position description.
  • Manage site safety, resources, scope and delivery of works on a daily basis, applying and enforcing required site procedures to ensure safe work processes and behaviours.
  • Operate plant and equipment necessary for job completion.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of teams and individuals, responding proactively to performance matters and escalating issues to the Program Delivery Lead or Team Lead as appropriate.
  • Monitor work to ensure it is performed efficiently and to a high standard, provide daily status updates to the Program Delivery Lead / Team Lead/ Schedulers, and prepare and submit relevant reports on job status and variances consistently and in a timely manner to ensure discrepancies, issues and risks are raised and addressed promptly.
  • Conduct routine negotiations with customers and minor conflict resolution.
  • Actively collaborate with other functions as well as external contractors as required to arrange outages for access to the electrical network, optimise the delivery of works, minimise customer impact and respond to / resolve customer enquiries.
  • Develop good working relationships with other team members including Site Leads and Program Delivery Leads or Team Leads to facilitate information exchange and problem solving and provide support to them and their teams as dictated by business needs.
  • Provide recommendations to the Program Delivery Lead or Team Lead regarding the management of field teams and resources and provide input and feedback to be included in performance evaluations and PPDPs.
  • Provide clear guidance and instruction and manage performance and attendance, thereby driving successful achievement of individual and team KPIs (across the Program of Work, EHSQ, Leadership and cost / budget).

 What will I need to be successful?

  • Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Distribution Overhead, Craft Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certificate III in Front Line Management (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of works in electricity distribution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operation and maintenance of electricity network infrastructure and field operations and high-level knowledge of construction standards.
  • EWP High Risk Licence. Experience in construction works as a Lineworker.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in supervising and leading teams in technical areas
  • ACT Driver’s Licence (MR) or equivalent.
