About our Opportunity:
An exciting and rare opportunity exists for a Site Manager with hands on approach to lead our manufacturing operation in Darwin. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on Quality and Safety, be highly analytical and possess exceptional leadership skills to lead the team to achieve operational efficiency whilst encouraging positive and proactive collaboration.
Reporting to the Industrial Manager – Beverages and Milk, this role is directly accountable for the leadership, management, and control of all site operations (Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance and Engineering).
- You will need to make sure all products are manufactured on time and within specification, ensuring all processes and statutory requirements are met.
- You will also need to work closely with planning and supply chain to achieve optimal production and distribution effectiveness within the Site.
About you:
- Sound experience in Food Manufacturing Sector – Dairy Industry is preferred;
- Proven skills and experience managing a manufacturing site including strong exposure to production, maintenance and warehousing;
- Knowledge in engineering and continuous improvement is preferred;
- Financial Acumen- Very strong analytical and problem solving skill;
- Excellent project management and interpersonal/communication skills;
- Sound influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate people;
- Ability to think strategically and outside the box when needed
- Strong ability to manage costs/budget with a focus on finding efficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop & implement improvement initiatives;
- Previous industrial and employee relations experience is preferred
- Negotiation and change management skills;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and WHS is essential;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or Science fields is desirable.
