Requirement for a Site Manager to manage a fantastic waterfront 8-storey, 80-unit apartment project at Hope Island on the Gold Coast, with a construction value of approx. $20M. The contractor is a client builder, with pride in work they deliver. With 80% of its projects coming from repeat business due to the quality of the product they build. They have a strong pipeline of projects across the Gold Coast over the next 4 years, in particular the Northern Gold Coast region. This position would suit an experienced Site Manager, local to the Gold Coast who has delivered a number of medium-rise unit projects from start through to hand-over.  

As the number 1 Site Manager on the project, reporting into the Project Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the construction project. Your duties will include; 

• Oversee the entire construction life cycle from inception through to handover – Early works, structure and internal finishes. 
• Reading construction plans and drawings
• Management of all company site staff – including Leading Hands and Labourers 
• Delegation of tasks to site staff 
• Chair and run sub-contractor meetings 
• Management of crane towers and logistical issues 
• Long, mid and short-term programming, with the Project Manager
• Strong OH&S management and Site safety  
• Review of all SMWS of direct work force, subcontractors, toolbox talks 
• Direction and management of multiple sub-contractors 
• Regular correspondence with the Project Manager 

To be suitable for this position, it is expected you will possess the following skills.

• Will have a Trade / Carpentry background and progressed through to a Site Management position. 
• A Builders or Supervisors License is essential. 
• Will have delivered multiple unit projects from inception through to hand-over 
• Will have a track record of delivering medium rise residential apartment projects from $10M – $30M in value for established building contractors and/or developers. 
• Will ideally have built and delivered unit projects on the Gold Coast and have an understanding of the market
• Will have managed an on-site team consisting Leading Hands and labour. 
• Will have a thorough understanding of both structures and finishes.
• Has a positive attitude to building multi-storey apartment projects.   
• Will have basic computer literacy skills
