We are working with a Global Developer, Asset owner and EPC of large-scale renewable energy projects including solar, onshore wind and offshore wind. Operating in multiple countries across the globe, they now have a strong focus in the Australian market with a major Solar Farm about to commence construction and several other projects in development.
About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of a major Solar Farm. The Electrical Package Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and the Construction Manager, providing technical oversight and coordination, and ensuring that the project is delivered as per design, commercial and program requirements.
The role will be based on site on either a DIDO or FIFO roster during the construction of the project. The site is based in Victoria around 2.5 hours from Melbourne.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement a Project Construction Plan/Engineering Management Plan for the project
- Define the design and engineering requirements for each contract and prepare technical specifications / scope of works
- Manage the process of assessing design risk and mitigation
- Understand the different construction documents and manage the key interfaces between the different packages of work/contracts
- Coordinate the review of all designs and engineering studies and ensure that, where required, designs and drawings are approved by the appropriate engineer
- Coordinate the RFI process
- Engage with and oversee subcontractors on site, ensuring they are carrying out their duties as contract/project specifications
- Engineering or Trade background, in either Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Discipline.
- Experience in Solar Farm construction from either an OEM, EPC contractor or design consultancy
- Detailed understanding of solar PV technology and systems
- Understanding of relevant applicable standards for Solar Farms in Australia
- A high level of interpersonal skills
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated capacity to work both autonomously and within the team environment; use initiative; solve problems through analytical thinking.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and manage relationships to ensure outcomes are achieved as harmoniously as possible.
- High attention to detail
