About the role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the team across our Roseworthy group.
Oversee operations at the sites, working with local and statewide colleagues to find solutions for safely and efficiently receiving grain and moving it to port. Manage and support multiple people to achieve the best outcomes.
Supported by your operations coordinator, this role has operational responsibility for all storage and handling functions across the sites. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering results.
Duties
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, resolve issues, and achieve organisational goals.
- Oversee daily operations, including grain handling, storage, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and work with managers on the results.
- Plan and co-ordinate grain operations to meet or better the agreed targets, which will include safety, quality systems and efficiency targets.
- Build strong relationships with local grower customers and develop an understanding of their operations.
- Effectively co-ordinate and safely manage all bulk commodity handling, storage, protection, and movement activities across the sites.
- Support the development and implementation of processes to ensure existing capital infrastructure and equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse workforce.
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
- Proven experience in supervising a team.
- Relevant operational experience, preferably gained in a bulk grain handling environment.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
